Shoreline Police Blotter: Boyfriend Strangles Girlfriend

The following blotter items range from May 15, 2012 - May 20, 2012. Information on arrests is supplied by the Shoreline Police Department. The reports do not indicate a conviction.

MAY 15

LARCENY:  An unlocked vehicle was parked in a private driveway in the 15200 block of Fremont Ave N.  A suspect stole a purse, laptop and CDs overnight.

LARCENY:  A woman was shopping in the paint aisle at The Home Depot (1335 N 205th Street) when an unknown man (black male, in his 30’s) stole her purse from the shopping cart.

INDECENT EXPOSURE:  A man was caught masturbating nearby the Interurban Trail and 153rd Ave North.

MAY 16

BURGLARY:  A suspect used a pry tool to force open a rear door of a home in the 2300 block of NW 197th Street.  The suspect took silverware, a camera and a spotter scope.

TRAFFIC COMPLAINT INVESTIGATION:  Neighbors in the 15000 block of 26th Ave NE reported to police that many cars speed inside their neighborhood.  The police caught vehicles speeding at upwards of 50 MPH in a 30 MPH zone.

LARCENY AT CHRISTA MINISTRIES:  Someone opened a front door and stole a ring from an apartment of an assisted living house at 19303 Kings Garden.

MARIJUANA AND IMMATURITY at SHORELINE CENTER:  Two men were asked to leave the property at 18560 – 1st Ave NE.  Police arrived after the men refused to leave the premise. One man threw marijuana on the ground.  Both men were cited for trespassing.

MAY 17

BURGLARY:  Suspect(s) used a pry tool to enter by force a home in the 1800 block of N 199th Street.  The suspect(s) forced open a rear sliding glass door and ransacked the bedroom.

LARCENY AT ESPRESSO OASIS:  Unknown person(s) stole the wheels and hubs from the trailer of the Espresso Oasis stand at 910 NE 185th Street.

SHOPLIFTING AT HOME DEPOT:  A woman stole garden chemicals by placing the items in her empty purse.  When confronted by Loss Prevention Officers, the woman urinated on herself.  This happened at 1335 N 205th Street.

MENTAL COMPLAINTS:  A person was part of a verbal disturbance at The American Adult Home, 14514 Stone Ave North.  The person was involuntarily committed because the person made suicidal threats.

MAY 18

STOLEN FLUTE AT KELLOGG MIDDLE SCHOOL:  A victim left a flute inside a backpack in a locker room during track practice at 16045 – 25th Ave NE.  Someone walked into the locker room and stole the flute.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT at ECHO LAKE CONDOS:  A boyfriend strangles his girlfriend and displays a knife in the 1100 block of N 198th Street.  He broke her windshield before he fled on foot.

MAY 19

LARCENY:  A vehicle was parked on a residential street in the 4000 block of NE 170th Street when a suspect broke into the car and stole items.

LARCENY AT SEARS:  A person concealed a pair of shoes and walked out of Sears without paying.  This happened at 15711 Aurora Ave N.

MAY 20

BURGLARY:  Two men entered the gym of Shorecrest High School now under construction. The suspects stole copper wiring while security guards were hiding and waiting for the suspects to enter.  Unfortunately, the thieves got away.
