Shoreline Police Blotter: Swastika and Racial Comments Found Drawn in Chalk at Sunset Elementary

The following blotter items range from Aug. 22 2012 - August 29 2012. Information on arrests is supplied by the Shoreline Police Department. The reports do not indicate a conviction.

August 22

VANDALISM: Someone slashed the tires on a vehicle in the parking garage of the Paramount Place Condominiums in the 1200 block of N.E. 152nd St.

HANDGUN STOLEN: Someone stole a handgun from a home in the 17000 block of 10th Ave. N.E.

August 23

BURGLARY: Someone entered an unlocked rear window of a home in the 1200 block of N.E. 181st Place while the victim slept in the same room.

August 27

VEHICLE PROWL: Someone took a keys and an iPod from two vehicles parked in the driveway of a home in the 1200 block of N.E. 174th St.

VANDALISM: Someone discovered a swastika and other racial comments drawn in chalk at the old Sunset Elementary School, 17800 block of 10th Ave. N.W.

August 28

DUI: Police pulled over a driver near 170th St. and Aurora Ave. N. who had a .113 blood alcohol content and impounded the person's car.

VANDALISM: A woman who lives in the 15500 block of Ashworth Ave. awoke to discover orange paint balls had been shot at her and her husband's vehicles. Her neighbor's VW Beetle also had a smashed out rear window.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY: Someone pried open a door and broke into an office with what appeared to be a large screwdriver at the King County Housing Authority in the 1500 block of N.E. 177th St. and took files.

VANDALISM: Suspect(s) shot out a car window and hit a neighbors house three times with orange paint balls in the 15500 block Ashworth Ave. N. 

VANDALISM: Over the weekend, someone shot a BB at an office window at Zoretic Properties, 15235 Aurora Ave. N., and damaged it. Police believe the person fired from the Interurban Trail.

EXPLOSIVE: A King County resident dropped off an inert steel artillery round at the King County Solid Waste Transfer Station at 2300 N. 165th St. The transfer station requested police dispose of the round.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY: Someone entered three storage units at Public Storage, 20065 15th Ave. N.E. Management contacted the owners. Police did not know if the units had locks on them.

WARRANTS: A person caught stealing a spray paint can from Fred Meyer, 18325 Aurora Ave. N., was discovered to have a felony Department of Corrections warrant and a misdemeanor warrant from Auburn Police. The person was booked into King County Jail for the warrants.

ASSAULT: A 15-year-old got in a fight with and assaulted his or her 18-year-old sister in the driveway of a home in the 1400 block of N.E. 154th St.

ROBBERY: A person was allegedly robbed, according to police, at Shoreline Motel, 16526 Aurora Ave. N., by two guys one of which was armed with a knife.

August 29

ASSAULT: A young man was booked for domestic violence assault after punching his father in the ribs near a home in the 700 block of N. 188th St.

VANDALISM:  In an incident that occurred in the 15700 block of Ashworth Ave. N., someone shot out a window of a pickup truck with a pellet gun, shot the truck three times with a paintball gun and also shot a Honda with the paintball gun.
