Shoreline Firefighter Places in Top 10 in Women's Stairclimb

Fundraiser for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society draws 1,551 firefighters from the Northwest

Shoreline firefighter Sabine Arnold, 45, placed seventh out of 120 women participants in the Scott Firefighter Stairclimb at the Columbia Center in downtown Seattle on Sunday, March 11. 

Arnold, who lives in Seattle, completed the 69-flight, 1,311-step, 788-foot climb up the second tallest building west of Mississippi in 17 minutes, 42.16 seconds. She was 326th out of 1,551 total participants. 

Shoreline firefighter Brett Defenbaugh, a 38-year-old Snohomish resident, placed 191st out of 1,431 male particpants and 193rd overall in a time of 16 minutes, 33.15 seconds.

John Henson, 40, of Kenmore rounded out the Shoreline delegation with a time of 26:44.24, 1,157th out of the male particpants, and 1,220th overall.
