Seattle Man Dies From Injuries Suffered in Feb 19 Shoreline Hit-And-Run

The King County Sheriff's Office has no leads on who was driving a van that hit the 60-year-old man in the 14600 block of Aurora Avenue, and is urging anyone with information about it to come forward.

A 60-year-old Seattle man hit by a van on Aurora Avenue in Shoreline on Feb. 19 has died of his injuries, the King County Sheriff’s Office reported Friday.

Authorities are urging anyone who might have information about the van, which left the scene and has not been located, to come forward.

The man was hit at about 8 p.m. Feb. 19 in the 14600 block of Aurora by what witnesses described as a white, full-size van with a rack on top. Two men were reportedly inside who appeared Hispanic or Latin, one of them with a goatee.

The driver pulled the van over briefly, then fled. King County Police have not been able to locate the vehicle of the men inside.

“I just talked to the investigator. We have nothing,” said Sgt. Cindi West, spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office. “Somebody knows what van this is, and we just need them to call is, even anonymously, and give us a lead.”

The victim has not yet been identified because the sheriff’s office is not certain his family has been fully notified of his death.

West said the white van had a work-type rack on top and might have been a Ford or Chevrolet. Anyone with potential information about it is asked to call the King County Sheriff’s Office at 206-296-3311.
