Retirement Reception for Lake Forest Park Police Chief Is Jan. 3

Dennis L. Peterson served the city for 12 years.

A retirement party will be held Jan. 3 for Lake Forest Park's retiring chief of police Dennis L. Peterson.

The reception and open house will be held at Lake Forest Park City Hall from 4 to 7 p.m. Presentations will be at 6 p.m.

Chief Peterson has been the police chief of Lake Forest Park for more than 12 years.

“It has been an amazing 12 years with the department and the wonderful people that have dedicated themselves to serve the City of Lake Forest Park,” said Peterson in his retirement announcement.

“I have been blessed to be a part of a great city and department. It has been my honor and privilege to be able to serve our community.”

During Peterson’s tenure, the Lake Forest Park Police Department improved its professional training, formed interdepartmental alliances with other police departments and helped form the Coalition of Small Cities that provides a major crimes task force and interagency training that has reduced costs to the city’s budget.
