Police Seek Van After Pedestrian Critically Injured in Shoreline Hit and Run

The man was hit while crossing Aurora Avenue near 145th Street Tuesday night by a white work van with two occupants.

A man crossing busy Aurora Avenue North near 145th Street in Shoreline was critically injured Tuesday night after being hit by a white work van that then fled the scene, according to police.

The King County Sheriff’s Office said the man was taken to Harborview Medical Center with injuries that could be life threatening after he was hit while apparently crossing the middle of Aurora at about 8 p.m.

Police are looking for two occupants of a white van, which was traveling northbound when it hit the male pedestrian. The van has been described variously as having no back and side windows and a rack on top. Police say it is likely missing a headlight.

Witnesses told police the driver pulled over briefly after hitting the pedestrian, then drove off. Anyone with information about the van or driver is asked to call 911.
