Patient at Anderson House Dies After Oxygen Treatment Without Doc Approval

The following blotter items range from October 17, 2012 – October 18, 2012. Information on arrests is supplied by the Shoreline Police Department. The reports do not indicate a conviction.

 

On October 17th, a staff member provided oxygen to a patient at about 4:00a.m.  The staff person did so without consulting a medical doctor.  The patient was in a nursing home facility called Anderson House at 17127 – 15th Ave NE.  The staff member was trying to increase the oxygen level for the patient.

GANG MEMBER, DRIVES WITH REVOKED LICENSE:  A known gang member was observed operating a motor vehicle.  Police officers made a connection with him at a suspected drug house.  Ultimately, he was arrested for a triple incident of driving while his license was revoked.  Further, he had in his possession possible amounts of crack and marijuana.

DISTURBANCE:  A fight broke out in a bar called North City Tavern, 17554 – 15th Ave NE at approximately 1:35 a.m.

DEATH INVESTIGATION:  A deceased man was found in the Blue Stone Apartments in the 1500 block of NE 146th Street.  The decomposing corpse was found in his apartment close to the noon hour.  

BURGLARY, FORCED ENTRY:  Someone(s) used a pry tool to force open a front door in the 15000 block of Westminster.  The thieves took electronics.

JUVENILE RUNAWAY:  A juvenile fell asleep on a Metro coach bus that pulled into the parking lot of Shoreline Community College at 16101 Greenwood Ave.  A police officer and someone from the Health Department woke up the juvenile.  The juvenile appeared disoriented and lethargic.  The young person was transported to Spruce Street, a youth resource center.

ASSISTING ANOTHER LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY:  Shoreline Police assisted the Monroe Police Department close to 4:35p.m. Monroe PD followed suspicious individuals who were driving a gray 1993 Ford F250 pickup truck as the truck drivers were on their way to possibly robbing people in the Innis Arden Neighborhood.  The bad guys starting driving from Monroe and Monroe Officers had probably cause to arrest them for burglary.  

ASSAULT WITH A HANDGUN:  An incident happened at The Brown Bear Car Wash at 16032 Aurora Ave North close to 3:55p.m.  This domestic violence assault occurred with the use of a handgun in the parking lot of the car wash.

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES AT ECHO LAKE APARTMENTS:  A woman in the 1100 block of North 192nd Street believes that several personal items are missing from her storage unit.  She made this discovery after moving property out of the said storage unit.

LARCENY AT SAFEWAY:  A person was trespassed and charged with theft because they took Vodka without paying for it at 15332 Aurora Ave North.

CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE:  A police officer approached a disabled vehicle nearby the intersection of NE 205th Street and Ballinger Way.  The officer discovered a man who was passed out after injecting his hand with heroin.  The vehicle was impounded and contraband was submitted into evidence and disposed of.

WELFARE STATUS:  An elderly Japanese woman lives in the 1500 block of NE 192nd Street, an apartment building.  She gets lost often.  She gets lost in the same building that she lives in.  Her limited English further complicates this unfortunate situation.

October 18

LARCENY:  Unknown suspect(s) grabbed kayaks off the top of a car in the 19200 block of 10th Ave NE.  The car with the kayaks was parked on the shoulder of the road by the front of the house.  A cutting tool was used to gain access to the kayaks.

POSSIBLE CHILD ABUSE:  An “x” year old alleges his “y” year old brother hit him and it resulted in some bruising.  This incident happened in the 1800 block of 16th Ave NE.

MENTAL COMPLAINTS:  An elderly man who is a dementia patient threatened to kill his wife in the 16100 block of 5th Ave NE.  The man has a history of behavior related to assaults.

BURGLARY:  Culprit(s) used a pry tool to open a sliding glass door at the Ballinger Commons apartment complex in the 19800 block of Bagley Dr North.  The culprit(s) stole various electronic items.  This incident was called in at close to 5:45p.m.

In a possibly related incident, more residential burglary occurred in the 20100 block of Bagley Dr North.  However, this time, it was not a forced entry as the owner of the unit may have left the front door unlocked.  This reported was call in at roughly 7:00p.m.

LARCENY:  Three vehicles were prowled in front of a Shoreline Community College parking lot at 16101 Greenwood Ave North.  Bad person(s) broke out the car windows with an unknown object and began their prowling.  This incident was called into police at roughly 9:06p.m.
