Murder Charge Filed in Fatal Stabbing of Shoreline Professor

Donnell D. Jackson, 44, faces charges in connection with fatally stabbing Shoreline Community College professor Troy Wolff and attacking Wolff's partner, Kristin Ito, with a knife, according to the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.

The man accused of fatally stabbing Shoreline Community College professor Troy Wolff on Friday was charged Tuesday with Murder in the First Degree, according to the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.

Donnell D. Jackson also was charged with Attempted Murder in the First Degree, in connection with the attack on Wolff's partner, Kristin Ito, according to the prosecuting attorney's office. Each charge includes a deadly weapon enhancement.

Prosecutors say that the attack began when Ito, 30, was attacked by Jackson with a knife in Pioneer Square after a Sounders soccer game late Friday, according to the Seattle Police Department and Shoreline Community College.

Wolff tried to intervene, and the attacker turned to Wolff, according to prosecutors. Wolff, 46, died early Saturday morning.

Prosecutors say the attack was random and unprovoked.

The Seattle Times reported that Jackson told police he was schizophrenic and that Wolff was a "member of a group trying to kill him."

Jackson, 44, remains in jail with bail set at $2 million. Arraignment is scheduled for Sept. 30 at 8:30 a.m. at the King County Courthouse, according to the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.
