Murder, Arson Charges Filed Against Man at Large in North Bend Murders

Charges were filed against Peter Keller of North Bend, though law enforcement continue to search for him. His wife and daughter were discovered dead Sunday in their North Bend home.

A North Bend man who is at large after his wife and daughter were discovered dead after a fire in their home faces murder and arson charges, the King County Prosecuting Attorney's office reported.

Peter Keller, 41, was charged Wednesday afternoon with two counts of Murder in the First Degree for the murders of his wife Lynnettee, 41, and daughter Kaylene, 18, according to the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. They were found dead of gunshot wounds a fire at their home, according to the office.

Keller also faces one count of Arson in the First Degree in connection with setting that fire, the office reported.

The murder charges include firearm sentencing enhancements, and if convicted as charged, Keller would face a sentence range of 51 to 65 1/2 years in prison, according to the Prosecuting Attorney's Office.

Prosecutors are requesting that the defendant be held without bail when he is arrested, the Sheriff's Office reported.

The search for him continues. On Tuesday, the King County Sheriff's Office asked hikers in the Interstate 90 corridor to call police if in they remember seeing Keller's red Toyota pickup routinely parked at any trailhead in the last year. Keller is an avid hiker, according to the King County Sheriff's Office.

The  was discovered Sunday morning near North Bend after Eastside Fire and Rescue responded to the blaze. Police were told that Keller usually drove a 1994 faded red Toyota pickup when he went hiking. 

“We have the truck, but we want to know if anyone has seen it regularly parked at any trailhead,” said Sergeant Cindi West, spokesperson for the King County Sheriff’s Office, which has a contract with North Bend to provide police services.

Police also said that he occasionally took his mountain bike with him and recently had been seen hiking with a “very large backpack."

Keller is familiar with local trails, and they are seeking information from ayone who may have seen the truck at local trailheads.
