UPDATE: Meridian Park Elementary Ends Lockdown

The school posted a message that it was in lockdown because of police activity in the area just before 4 p.m. The lockdown ended at 4:26 p.m.

Update, 4:40 p.m.: The lockdown has ended as of 4:26 p.m., according to an updated message on the website at Meridian Park Elementary.

Meridian Park Elementary School posted this emergency message on its website, as of 3:59 p.m. Tuesday:

"Meridian Park Elementary and the Shoreline Children's Center are currently in lockdown due to police activity in the area."

Just before 4:30 p.m., KIRO 7 TV Tweeted: "A bank robbery at 102 & Midvale around 3:30 p.m. caused a lockdown at Meridian Park Elementary. Suspects' car was left abandoned near school."
