Man Says Prostitute He Befriended Damaged His Vehicle

The following blotter items range from September 25, 2012 – October 1, 2012. Information on arrests is supplied by the Shoreline Police Department. The reports do not indicate a conviction.

On Sept. 30, a man who told police he befriended a prostitute at the Tyee Apartments in the 17200 block of Aurora Ave. N. said she damaged the door and window of his vehicle. 

September 25

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY:  Culprit(s) pried open some plywood to create
access to a building on the campus of Shorecrest High School.  The
building is under construction and will serve as the future theater
for the school. The culprit(s) stole copper cables, tools and other
items from the work site.

September 26, 27: Nothing to report.

September 28

ALCOHOL INVOLVED ACCIDENT, DUI:  Someone who had been drinking, drove
a truck through a golf course fence nearby the intersection of North
152nd St and Greenwood Ave.  The truck crashed into a tree and the
driver was arrested for a DUI.

VANDALISM:  There were four incidents related to gang graffiti.  The
times these reports were called into the police range from 1:03 p.m. to
1:24pm.  The places affected were:
•       The intersection of North 145th Street and Interlake
•       North 45th Street and Courtland
•       Burke Ave North
•       North 45th Street and Roslyn Place


ASSAULT, FOURTH DEGREE:  Someone grabbed another person by the wrist
nearby NE 145th Street and 1st Ave NE.  This action caused bruising to
the person who was grabbed.


September 29

DUI: A person drove a car while drunk in the 16000 block of Aurora Ave.

CHILD NEGLECT:  A three year-old-toddler was found wandering the
streets alone for the second day in a row.  The child was found nearby
the 1800 block of 10th Ave NE.

ASSAULT, FOURTH DEGREE:  A person hit, tripped and kicked a woman in
the head.  This assault happened at Paramount Park.

STALKING, HARASSMENT:  A person in the 14500 block of 32nd Ave NE told
police that someone else was harassing him/her at a private residence
and place of employment.

MORE STALKING and HARASSMENT:  A woman in the 1400 block of NE 154th
Street has a protection order against someone who is a family friend.
The woman was contacted by the offender;  this made the woman feel
harassed.

September 30

LIQUOR AND TOBACCO VIOLATIONS: A young woman, who was very drunk at N.E. 160th St. and 8th Ave. N.E. was taken home to her mother and cited for minor in possession.

MENTAL COMPLAINTS: A 91-year-old patient in a nursing home in the 19200 block of 15th Ave. N.W. was sent to the hospital because of assaultive behavior. 

October 1

MENTAL COMPLAINTS: A person who had been drinking in the 1500 block of 15th Ave. N.E. threatened suicide by cop. 

LEAF BLOWERS TAKEN: Someone reported that their leaf blowers were stolen from a construction site at N.W. 185th St. and 3rd Ave. N.W. Although there were many people on the job site, no one said they say anything.

FRAUD: A man and his wife looking for a house to rent last month were referred to a person by another friend who rented them a house in the 1500 block of N.E. Perkins Way. The person renting house took cash for rent and deposit while having no legal authority to the premises.

ASSAULT: Someone was assaulted during a roommate fight at the Bluestone Apartments, 1500 block of N.E. 146th St.
