Man Identified in Fatal Shoreline Freeway Crash

Bryon T. Monge, 30, of Everett died Saturday when the Chevrolet S10 he was driving veered off Interstate 5 and struck a pillar at Northeast 185th Street.

Bryon T. Monge, 30, of Everett, was identified early Sunday as the driver who died Saturday when the pickup he was driving rolled over on Interstate 5 under the Northeast 185th Street overpass, blocking traffic for two hours.

The crash occurred around 5:25 p.m. Saturday on northbound I-5 near milepost 177, just south of State Route 104, the Washington State Patrol reported. 

Accoding to the state patrol, Monge was driving a 1998 Chevrolet S10 northbound in the second lane of the freeway when it veered off the roadway into the grassy area on the right. The pickup struck the 185th Street overpass pillar and came to rest on its top, according to the state patrol.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation, according to the state patrol. Monge wore a seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to the state patrol.
