LFP Police Blotter, June 20 -26

The following blotter items and information on arrests were selected from the Lake Forest Park Police Department. The reports do not indicate a conviction.

June 20

LOST DOG: On Ballinger Way NE and 35th Ave NE, a dog was in the roadway. The dog had a collar on and was either slightly injured in the rear hip area or just old with hip pain. The dog was a mixed breed German Shepherd. An officer found the dog’s information on his caller and called the owner. The owner came and picked up the dog.

COMMUNITY BONDING: On the 1900 block of 45th Ave, NE an officer took time to talk with some kids that were playing lacrosse. They talked about the sport.

BREAK IN: An ex-boyfriend broke into a woman’s house on the 3600 block of NE 155th St. He had moved out a couple of weeks ago. He didn’t take anything. He shook the woman awake and harassed her for a while. He restrained her hand and wouldn’t let her make any phone calls. The next day the woman contacted the police. She did not want to make any formal report but was interested in how to obtain a court order so he can’t contact her. The officer explained the court order process and gave her the proper paper work to submit to the court.

BICYCLIST TRAFFIC VIOLATION: Unidentified bicyclists (rerouted from the closed Burke-Gilman) are not stopping for the posted stop signs. A witness claims that he was starting to pull forward in his vehicle when a cyclist ran the stop sign. The cyclist started yelling at the man in the car claiming he was supposed to yield to the cyclist. The man in the vehicle requested periodic enforcement from an officer.

CIVIL ISSUE: An employee of the Curves at the 1700 block of Ballinger Way NE, stated she loaned and unknown male $65 to get to his mother’s funeral. He stated he would pay her double the next day. He came back and asked for money to get a payday loan. He has never returned and will not return phone calls. An officer directed her to WSP for public records request/small claims court.  

June 22

CAR BREAKIN: At the 400 block of NE 174th St, a window was smashed in on a 2000 Honda. Nothing seems to be missing.

DOMESTIC ISSUES: A woman at the 3000 block of NE 193rd St, is receiving threatening messages from her husband who is in Idaho. The husband is upset because his wife has hired an attorney for a divorce. He has made threats to trash the house but has not threatened or ever hurt her. The officer advised her to contact her attorney, tell them of his comments and to possibly petition for a restraining order. She was also advised to contact the department's domestic violence advocate for other help.

June 23

BLOCKING ROAD: A wire fell into the roadway on the 20400 block of 37th Ave NE. An officer marked the wire with yellow caution tape and no notification was needed.

BICYCLE THEFT: A bike was stolen overnight at the 17000 block of 28h Ave. NE. The subject did not have any information about her bicycle, which was 10 years old. She does not know when it went missing and did not want to make a police report

STOLEN VEHICLE LOCATED: At the 20000 block of 32nd Ave, an officer located a a vehicle that showed significant damage and had two flat tires. The car was identified as stolen and towed to the owner’s home.

June 24

SUSPICIOUS PERSON: An officer found a male sleeping in his car at the 17000 block of Bothell Way NE. He was parked in a stall and keys were out of the ignition. He appeared to be intoxicated. The officer adviced him to not drive for several hours and suggested he walk to the Police Department to check his blood alcohol level.

LOST DOG: At the 14000 block of Bothell Way NE, a black lab was seen unattended in the middle of the intersection.

June 25

ALTERCATION: At the 3400 block of 190th St, a man called from a group home and said another man living at the same location assaulted him. When officers arrived they separated the two men and tried to calm them down. One of the men was taken into custody.

BYCYCLIST WARNING: At the 16000 block of 37th Ave NE, an officer warned a bicyclist for going slowly through intersection. He watched about 20 others stop as he observed the intersection for about an hour.

SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE: At the 16000 block of Shore DR NE, a vehicle was found with the driver side window covered in plastic. There were signs of tracks in the fresh cut grass leading to the back of a private residence, who did not own the car, but nothing else was seen.

June 26

GUN SHOT HEARD: At the 16000 block of 30th Ave NE, a male heard coyotes howling and then two gun shots from the same area.

GRAFFITI: Red paint tagged a street sign on the 15000 block of 35th Ave. NE. Photos were taken. Public workers will be notified for clean up.
