LFP Police Blotter, July 4 - July 10

The following blotter items and information on arrests were selected from the Lake Forest Park Police Department. The reports do not indicate a conviction.

July 4

FIREWORKS COMPLAINT: At Lago PL. NE and 20th Ave NE a resident called in a firework complaint. Officers arrived at that location and warned residents of noise and fireworks.

OBSTRUCTION ON HIGHWAY: On 522 near the intersection of Bothell Way NE and Ballinger Way NE, ducks blocked traffic. A pedestrian was helping the ducks cross the street. Eventually, citizens captured the baby ducks and took them to the lake.

MENTAL DISORDER: A female went missing and was found near the Starbucks on the 17000 block of Bothell Way NE. She was located inside a vehicle and the owner confirmed he did not know her and she didn’t have permission to be in his car. LFP police discovered she was a missing person out of Puyallup. They spoke with a Puyallup officer who stated the woman had sent suicide emails to a friend last night. She was claiming to be God and Buddha. The woman appeared to be unable to care for herself. She had no money, ID, or any idea of how to get home. She seemed confused by simple questions and tasks. She was sent to Evergreen Hospital for evaluation and the Puyallup PD was advised to contact the family.

July 5

LOST DOG: At the 17000 block of Bothell Way NE a white Shepherd type dog was wandering around the street. A woman in her car was concerned about it getting hit so she tried to follow the dog and an intoxicated male started running after her car and the dog making weird gestures. Male appeared to be hitchhiking.

FRAUD:  At the 16000 block of Bothell Way NE, A woman claimed an unknown suspect gained access to her bank account over the weekend and made two separate withdrawals. The first withdrawal was $103.00 and the second was $263.00.  The woman contacted her bank. An officer provided a case number to the bank and they are returning the money.

July 6

DISTURBING THE PEACE: At the 18000 block of Ballinger Way NE, loud music was reported.  A band was playing inside their garage and the music was reverberating throughout the neighborhood.

FIREWORKS COMPLAINT: A male just south of 153rd on Bothell Way NE was seen shooting bottle rockets across the highway. An officer couldn’t turn his vehicle around fast enough to attain the male and he got away.

CYCLIST WARNED: A officer stopped a cyclist for running a stop sign at the 16000 block of 37th Ave NE. The cyclist was apologetic, said he would pass the word and the officer issued him a warning.

July 7

VEHICLE ACCIDENT: A vehicle traveling north bound on SR104, near the intersection of 40th place NE and Ballinger Way NE, lost control and ran over the sidewalk into the dirt embankment. There was no damage to other property with the exception of displaced dirt. The damage to the vehicle consisted of a flat tire. Once officers arrived they found an intoxicated man but not the driver. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene. Both subjects were soldiers from JBLM. The officers contacted the unit staff on duty and provided information to him. A ride was arranged for the man that had not fled the scene.

TRAFFIC TICKET: A ticket was given to a woman at the 16000 block of 37th Ave, for not stopping at a stop sign.

DAMAGE TO VEHICLE: Sometime during the night of the July 6 at the 14000 block of Bothell Way NE a car was hit and damaged by another car. There were scratches to the driver’s corner of rear bumper cover and driver’s side tail lens. The owner of the car thought a neighbor who parked next to his car was to blame, but the neighbor had not returned since the damage was reported. Officers found the contact information of the woman who owned the parking spot and left a message on her machine suggesting she contact the police to discuss a hit and run.

July 8

CREDIT CARD FRAUD: At the 5400 block of NE 195th St, a male called LFP police to report credit card fraud. The charges were all made by phone.

FIREWORKS COMPLAINT: A male found fireworks hidden under his son's car at the 5200 block of NE 184th St. When officers arrived they discovered a small pack of firecrackers. Half of the packaging was missing and it was likely the other half was not ignited but left in the roadway. The officers assumed the car ran over them and they got caught up in the grill fender.

July 9

VEHICLE ACCIDENT: At NE 178th St and Ballinger Way NE, two vehicles collided and were partially blocking the roadway. There were no injuries but aid was called for a female with back pain.

HIT AND RUN: At the intersection of 178th St and 33rd Ave, a vehicle sped through the area and swerved to hit a construction worker. A passerby got the plate information. Officers are contacting the driver.

JULY 10

OVERDOSE: At the 3300 block of 190th St, a roommate called police for a possible overdose. The male subject was not responsive, awake or breathing normally. The roommate started CPR while on the phone with police waiting for aid. When aid got on scene the male had died.

ATTEMPTED FRAUD: At the 16000 block of 41st Ave NE, a man keeps getting calls from different people who are claiming to be with different entities trying to confirm his SSN and bank account number.
