LFP Police Blotter: Grinch Steals Amazon Box From Front Porch of Home

The following blotter items and information from Dec. 6 through Dec. 18 were selected from the Lake Forest Park Police Department. The reports do not indicate a conviction.

Dec. 6

THREATS: A 60-year-old man in the 3400 block of N.E. 158th St. reported getting threatening phone calls from a man with a phone number in the 425 area code saying things like, "you're done for." The man who called police initially received the first call from the man making the threats in regard to items listed on Craigslist, which had all been sold. When an officer called the man making the threatening phone calls he started yelling and did not believe the call was from an officer. The conversation ended with the man yelling at the officer. The man reporting the calls said the both parties got into a heated conversation. The reporting party has a loaded semi-automatic pistol.

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES: An officer observed a vehicle parked in the roadway in the 16900 block of 30th Ave. N.E. with its windows fogged up. The officer contacted the 21-year-old man and 22-year-old woman inside. They got dressed and received a verbal warning.

Dec. 7

BURGLARY: A Blackberry, laptop, jewelry and more were stolen from a house in the 17200 block of 25th Ave. N.E. The burglar(s) got in through a broken garage door.

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES: A woman in the 3000 block of N.E. 178th St. said she noticed a lot more activity at a neighbor's house with several strange cars and people walking up the driveway. She wanted the strangers to stop coming up her private drive. She believed drug use or drug dealing was going on. An officer told her he would put out a general e-mail to the department so that everyone is aware. 

BURGLARY: Jewelry and cash was taken after suspect(s) kicked in the front door of a residence in the 16000 block of 35th Ave. N.E.

Dec. 15

MAIL THEFT: Stolen mail was dumped in the street on 174th St. between 44th Ave. N.E. and Brookside.

THEFT: An Amazon box was stolen from the front porch of a home in the 4000 block of N.E. 174th St. overnight. An $80 video game was inside. The Amazon box was found with opened mail at the corner of 174th St. and 44th Ave. N.E.

RUNAWAY: A female person was reported missing since Dec. 9 from the 20000 block of 37th Ave. N.E. SeaTac Airport called the parents and advised them that they found her property at the airport. She possibly went to see a guy she knows from Texas.

MAIL THEFT: A package containing a $30 DVD was stolen and ripped open from a mailbox in the 18000 block of 35th Ave. N.E. overnight.

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES: A woman who lives in the 3800 block of N.E. 155th Place called police to report that she believes someone is driving her car at night because the next day things are moved around inside. Her seat is moved up all the way and the interior light settings are changed. She's been missing two sets of keys for years but just noticed the change in the last six months. She said that two of her ex-employees might have keys because they told her that they lost them and never returned them back to her.

Dec. 16

BIKE ACCIDENT: A woman biking on 39th Ave. N.E. and Bothell Way N.E. appeared to have hit a bump on the shoulder of the road and fell over hitting her head on the curb. She did not know where she was or what she was doing. Police contacted her husband and advised him she would be taken to Harborview. Her bike, helmet and cell phone were taken to the police department for safekeeping.

SUSPICIOUS CIRUMSTANCES: Someone called police to report a suspicious man in front of Lake Forest Park Elementary School doing karate moves while wearing a coat that had a doll hanging out of it and rags covering part of his face. He was also seen skipping on the sidewalk. 

DRUNK MAN: A man called police to report a man lying on the sidewalk on the northbound side of Bothell Way N.E. near Taco Bell. He was highly intoxicated.

Dec. 18

DUI: A woman driving a black Hyundai almost hit another vehicle after crossing the center line near Lake Forest Park Town Center on Ballinger Way. The driver was eventually taken to Stevens Hospital.

THEFT: An employee of Towne Centre Hardware discovered his wallet missing about 6:50 p.m. and closed out his credit cards. His Master Card was used at the QFC in Mountlake Terrace. The man believed he might have dropped his wallet in Third Place Commons while on break.

THEFT: An employee of Lake Forest Grill, 17535 Ballinger Way N.E., reported all four his tires on his 2003 Suzuki were gone after he parked in the back of the restaurant. He said he had a verbal argument with another employee a few days ago where threats were made.
