LFP Police Blotter: Burglar Takes Jewelry From House on Bothell Way

The following blotter items and information from Mar 1, 2012 through March 4, 2012 were selected from the Lake Forest Park Police Department. The reports do not indicate a conviction. Please note missing dates means nothing to report.

March 1:

MAIL THIEVES:  Some persons in the 17200 block of Brookside Blvd NE reported that they and their neighbors were victims of mail theft.  Dozens of letters were rifled through and thrown all over the street.  The police advised neighbors to take their U.S. mail inside daily and not leave anything in the mailboxes overnight.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY:  The principal of a Lake Forest Park Elementary School at 18500 – 37th Ave NE reported that someone attempted to pry open a safe.  According to the police, it did not appear that entry was successful.

COUPLE SMOOCHING IN THE PARK:  Police approached a highly fogged up vehicle in the 19600 block of 47th Ave NE.  The man had his seat fully reclined and claimed that the couple were “just talking.”  The man and female were warned about laws prohibiting people in the park after closing time.  The Dodge car had no license plates.  The man confessed that he intended to willfully avoid registration in WA by registering his car in OR.  The officers warned the man about that also.

March 3

JEWELRY TAKEN BY BURGLAR:  A man in the 16100 block of Bothell Way NE reported that someone smashed a back door made of glass at his home. The thieves took some jewelry.  The homeowners have ADT Alarm System but the alarm company was instructed to call homeowner’s son first, not the police.

DRIVING WITH A SUSPENDED LICENSE:  The police saw a female driving out of the Déjà Vu parking lot.  She was an entertainer at Déjà Vu.  The female was reminded and warned of her suspended license.

March 4

BIG PARTY AT WOODLAND NORTH APTS: A person in the 3600 block of NE 155th St reported that there was a great deal of noise coming from a neighbor’s place nearby.  There was loud talking, people banging the door going into and out of the apartment.  The police arrived on the scene and could smell a strong dose of marijuana.  The officers told the tenants to keep “stuff” inside and not have anybody drive away unless they were sober.  The tenants agreed to pipe things down.

WARRANT:  A woman in the 3700 block of NE 180th Street asked for police assistance because she was afraid her son would leave the house and start back on drugs again.  The son in his late 20’s does have a warrant for his arrest.  He was wanted for Theft 3 for stealing $2,500.
