LFP Police Blotter

The following are selected reports from the LFP Police from May 30th to June 5th

May 30

TRESPASSING: A man was seen taking photos of houses around the 15000 block of Bothell Way NE.  He did not want to explain to officers why he was taking pictures of houses when asked. 

HEALTH CRISIS: A man and woman fell in the street near the 1700 block of Brookside Blvd. NE. They appeared to be homeless.  The woman then got up and walked to the bridge and fell into the creek.  The police retrieved them and told them to go home.

DOMESTIC ALTERCATION: A man was heard fighting with a woman at the Sheridan Beach Apts. When officers arrived the female told them she was hit in the head. There were no weapons. Aid arrived at the scene and the man was taken into custody.

DOG LOOSE: A pitbull was found loose around the 14000 block of 37th Ave. NE. The dog has charged a woman three different times in the last month. Officers advised her to check with animal control.

BURGLARY: Someone broke into a garage. Items where rummaged through but nothing other then a bicycle tire fixing kit was taken. 

AUTO THEFT: A vehicle was broken into and an iPod was taken. 

June 1

MISSING PERSON: A woman lost her teen-age son while shopping. She tried to call him on his phone and couldn’t reach him. The woman was advised to go home and wait for the officer’s to contact her. When the woman arrived home there was a message from her son that he was at his school.

DOMESTIC ISSUE: A woman explained to officers that she and her husband were going through a separation, and when she arrived home after work most of her items were taken. Officers explained that she needed to retain a divorce attorney, otherwise there is nothing they can do since they are still legally married.  Washington is a joint property state and a judge would have to determine what belongs to who in this particular case.

June 2

AUTO ACCIDENT: A low speed collision happened in the upper parking lot of the LFP Town Center.  The driver who hit the car while backing out of parking lot took full responsibility for the accident. She admitted she should not have been backing out without being able to see approaching traffic

BURGLARY: A vacant property was burglarized last week. Entry was gained by breaking rear window and then exited through the garage. Several items were gathered in a box and left behind. The house had been vacant for several years and had been burglarized in the past.

June 3

DOMESTIC ISSUE: A woman locked her husband out of their house and had locks changed. She wanted a divorce. There were no weapons involved and the she was alone in their home. She said she just wanted her husband to leave her alone. She is broke and he keeps asking her for money. She contacted the landlord and is having the lease changed into her name.

June 4

DISTURBING THE PEACE: A man called and reported that he heard 7-8 shots about a block away from his house. A second caller reported she had heard 10 shots and thought they may be fireworks. Officers checked the area.

June 5

HARASSMENT: A man says neighbors are harassing him and that it is an ongoing issue. He feels intimidated by them but the incidents he described, while annoying, did not amount to criminal.  He asked the officers to keep an eye on the area.

PARKING ISSUE: Officers talked to a vendor that had parked his van in the area between the market and the parking lot of Rite Aid. The van was blocking a lane of travel. He said he was unloading and will soon move. While he was parked there another vehicle parked in front of him. The vendor does not know where they went. Another vendor parked in a handicapped parking spot, in front of the city hall.  He is setting up his display on the city hall’s sidewalk and blocking the main door.

LOST DOG: A man almost hit a dog. He pulled over and got the dog in his car. The dog had no tags. He contacted animal control.
