The following blotter items were selected from Lake Forest Park police reports from May 2-15, 2011:

 May 2

 VEHICLE THEFT: A white ford van was taken overnight from the 16700 block of 32nd Ave. N.E.

 CIVIL PROBLEM: Residents in the 15800 block of 38th Ave. N.E. reported a stuffed animal head wrapped in plastic was found in their mailbox. Dispute over a tree in their backyard might have been a factor.

 CIVIL PROBLEM: The owner of Ballinger Automotive 18700, 26th Ave. N.E. was upset that a vehicle towed to his business had a parking tag placed on it by an LFP officer when he said it was only illegally parked for only five minutes.

 May 3

 ORDINANCE VIOLATION: Individuals in the 17000 block of Hamlin Road N.E. were cutting down trees and knocked out power lines. They did not have a permit. Work was stopped until one was obtained at City Hall.

 May 4

VEHICLE PROWL: Two GPS units, truck registration and insurance card were taken from an unlocked Toyota Tacoma pickup truck in the 2700 block of N.E. 184th Place.

May 6

 SHOPLIFTING: A female person was detained after trying to take computer memory cards from Rite Aid, 17171 Bothell Way N.E.

 May 8

 MALICIOUS MISCHIEF: Someone egged a vehicle in the 16700 block of 39th Ave. N.E.

 ANIMAL: A man called to police to report that an aggressive black poodle charged him and his dog baring its teeth in the 3700 block of N.E. 165th St.

 May 9

 BOY SHOT: Two juvenile boys were playing with guns in a bedroom in the Watercrest Apartments in the 14000 block of Bothell Way N.E. A small caliber gun went off while being handled by one of the boys and he shot his friend in the leg one time. The wounded boy was conscious and alert, and transferred to Harborview.

 May 11

BURGLARY: Someone entered a home in the 3000 block of N.E. 156th St. through an unlocked basement sliding door in the back. Two cloth laundry bags, one with clothes, one without; a jar of change, a plastic corner shelf and a bottle of laundry detergent were stolen. The items were found dumped in two separate piles in the rear house to the east of the home.

May 13

DISTURBANCE: A person in an apartment 3000 block of N.E. 155th St. reported that a male person below was making a lot of noise, banging on the ceiling and yelling. The male person was upset that the people above are walking around in the kitchen above his bedroom. Officer advised them to talk to management about the problem and gave business cards to both parties.

May 14 

PARTY:  A juvenile party of about 80 people was reported in the 19000 block of 37th Ave. N.E. while the homeowners were away in New York. When police arrived young people started running out of the backyard and out over the back fence. Cases of beer were found still full. Police advised everyone to leave and not come back. Beer was poured out. The girl throwing the party was advised if people come back the police would as well.

May 15

 AUTO THEFT: A gray Volkswagen was taken overnight from the 16500 block of 34th Ave. N.E.
