AUTO THEFT: A man and his wife in the 4000 block of N.E. 178th St. went out to walk his dog and exchanged greetings with a woman. When they came back home they noticed their red 2009 Nissan Versa was headed toward Ballinger Way from his driveway with a blond, skinny woman, the same person who walked past them, driving it. He had left the door unlocked and believed she may have gotten the keys from the house. His wife’s purse and cellphone were also missing. The vehicle was discovered by police at the Kenmore Safeway and three people were contacted by police in connection with the crime. The car and items were recovered.

She asked him to tell her 19-year-old boyfriend, who she is living with, to leave her alone. He did and got into a texting battle with him. The boyfriend told the husband in one of the texts that he better bring a gun with him if he comes looking for him. An officer told him that did not meet the elements of a threat and the man was upset that the boyfriend would not be arrested. The officer advised the man on how he and his wife could get a no-contact order to keep the boyfriend, who is on a student visa, away.

MALICIOUS MISCHIEF: Someone broke a window at the back of a residence in the 19700 block 40th Court N.E.
