SMILE YOU'RE ON CAMERA: A woman who owns a private building in teh 3600 block of N.E. 155th St. reported that someone at a private building next door erected a camera that appeared to cover private areas behind her building. A sign near the camera reads, "Smile, you are on camera." She wanted to know if it is legal for the camera to view or record activity in the private rear of her property. Tenants in her building expressed privacy concerns. The officer suggested she write a letter to the property owners to seek answers about her concerns or contact an attorney or State Attorney General's office.

OUT OF CONTROL DRIVER: An elderly man in his 90s in the 19000 block of 51st Ave. N.E. backed his new Mercedes out of his driveway and lost control causing him to back into another neighbor's yard, narrowly missing hitting him. The neighbor and another neighbor tried to stop the man by jumping in front of his vehicle. The elderly man tried to drive down the road slowly coasting in neutral until one of the neighbors reached in the car and put it park. The elderly man said he was going to a doctor's appointment. The man has refused to stop driving and his license will likely be suspended from an earlier traffic accident in May. An officer informed his daughter-in-law of the process DOL goes through to re-examine the man and the steps she can take to stop him from driving.

CONFRONTATION OVER COYOTE KILLING: Matt Stevens of Department of Agriculture called at 11 p.m. from the 17700 block of 28th Ave. N.E. to report a Subaru hatchback had been following him, probably a neighbor who didn't agree with what he was doing (hunting dangerous coyotes). An officer contacted the neighbor Michelle LeMoine who was upset about coyotes being killed and was following them to ensure that they are abiding by protocol. The officer told LeMoine that there other, proper ways of protesting. LeMoine said she had made several phone calls and not found the right person. The officer convinced LeMoine to go home figure out another way to protest and she was appreciative of that. Stevens said he had a coyote in his sights when LeMoine started moving vehicles around near his location causing him not to take the shot to avoid a serious confrontation.

MALICIOUS MISCHIEF: A tow truck driver working in the 15500 block of Bothell Way N.E. was conducting private impounds for Sheridan Beach Terrace Apartments when unknown individuals began throwing eggs at his two truck, mostly missing but one hit the roof and fragments hit his leg. An officer came and watched while he performed his last tow which is mainly what we wanted.

It was reported as a total loss to insurance but its still drivable and she is still driving it and will not return it to him. The officer contacted the man's ex-wife and said she wanted to keep it but would rather have him come get it then deal with him anymore since he makes her want to "drink like a fish." She said he could get it from her parents in Marysville.

PITBULL: A man in the 19000 block of 47th Ave. N.E. reported that man with his pitbull was having the dog drag weights and that it seemed inhumane. King County Animal Control was advised.

The officer who spoke to Michelle LeMoine the night before and who started the protest said she was grateful and thanked her for protesting in a more appropriate fashion. KOMO news was on the scene and spoke to both sides. The protestors walked up and down the street and talked to citizens inquiring about their cause.
