The following blotter items were selected from Lake Forest Park Police reports from Feb. 28 to March 7.

 Feb. 28

VANDALISM:  Graffiti was discovered on the side of a building in the 14700 block of Bothell Way N.E.

 SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES?: A person in the 19500 block of 47th Ave. N.E. called to say the water tower to the north had motion lights going off. Police checked and saw that the gates were locked, no damage, no one suspicious seen in the area and did not see any lights going on and off.

March 1

 THEFT: A man in the 5300 block of N.E. 178th St. found his neighbor’s mail opened and in his yard and returned it. The neighbor had sent mail to credit reporting agencies and had included social security numbers and placed it in an unsecured mailbox on Feb. 25 before it was found March 1. Police advised the neighbor to contact the Social Security Administration and place a fraud alert.

 

March 2

 ANIMAL: An older yellow Labrador and younger black Labrador, both males, were found running northbound in the 17000 block of 37th Ave. N.E. without collars or tags. Animal control picked them up and took them to Lake Forest Park Animal Hospital and had them scanned for microchips and found none. They went into the kennel and picked up by King County Animal Control. Dogs were eventually returned to a very happy dog owner.

 

 BURGLARY: After being gone for about two-and-a-half hours a person living in the 17000 block of 37th Ave. N.E. came home to find the back door shattered and things in the house rummaged through.  A neighbor noticed an older, black two-door coupe that was possibly used in the crime. Suspects might have been a black male person and white male person.

 

March 3

 ANIMAL: A neighbor called to complain about a barking pit bull in the 3400 block of N.E. 193rd St.  after getting no answer from the occupants. Police discovered the occupants of the home had been warned multiple times for different animal complaints including barking dogs. A citation was issued to the dog’s owner.

 VANDALISM: Someone tagged a metal telephone box with the word “BASK,” at N.E. 157th St. and 37th Ave. N.E.

 VANDALISM: Someone tagged a street sign with the word “BASK” in pen ink at N.E. 160th St. and 35th Ave. N.E.

 THREATS: A man in the 5400 block of N.E. 195th St., who is in the middle of a short sale of his home,  said someone he thinks might be from the bank is trying to serve him papers that he is supposed to sign for. He told the male person who came to the house to go away and the individual said he would return with a gun later that night.

 

March 4

 FRAUD: A person who lives in the 18900 block of 40th Place N.E. reported that his wife wrote a check for parking for $8 and it was apparently stolen, washed and rewritten for $480. The incident occurred last October.

 

March 5

MALICIOUS MISCHIEF: Several cars under carports at the Watercrest Apartments, 14824 Bothell Way, were scratched with keys the night before.

 SUSPICIOUS CIRUMSTANCES?: Police contacted a man walking around the Déjà vu strip club. He said he was waiting for his girlfriend to finish her shift. He also said her car has been having problems so he comes with her to work and hangs out in the car and sometimes walks around the area as well.

 

March 6

 SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES?: A woman in the 18900 block of Forest Park Drive N.E. reported that two male persons in a silver Volvo station wagon with a ladder on top walked to her door, knocked, stood there for a bit and left before driving away slowly.  She was concerned because of break-ins in the area.
