Juvenile Arrested For Armed Robbery Attempt

A 16-year-old boy was arrested after he pointed a gun at a male and demanded money

A 16-year-old boy was arrested in Shoreline for pointing a gun at a man and attempting to rob him in the 300 block of N.E. 158th St. in Shoreline Wednesday afternoon.

The incident occurred about 3:40 p.m. on Wednesday and police were called about 10 minutes later, said Captain Scott Strathy of the Shoreline Police Department.

The suspect allegedly pulled a small-caliber gun out of his right pants pocket and demanded that the victim give him money.

The victim said no, a brief struggle ensued and the victim got away. 

When police arrived the hood was up on the suspect's vehicle and he was with another person.

Police advised the two individuals of their rights and both denied they had a gun. 

After getting consent to search the vehicle, an officer found the handgun in plain view in the car and the suspect was arrested.
