Jury Finds 21-Year Old Man Guilty in Brutal Shoreline Assault

A 55-year-old Shoreline man was beaten and left naked after thwarting a theft of his Jeep Cherokee

A King County Superior Court jury has found 21-year old transient from Kent guilty for a violent assault that occurred in the city of Shoreline.

The jury found him guilty of Assault in the First Degree and Attempted Robbery in the First Degree.  A second suspect is awaiting trial in King County Superior Court on the same charges. The King County Sheriff's Office did not name the convicted assailant or return phone calls.

On December 17, 2010, a 55-year old Shoreline resident heard someone trying to steal his Jeep Cherokee in the middle of the night, so he went to investigate wearing slippers and a custom-made bathrobe.

He was attacked by two suspects, leaving him crawling, bloody and naked in the parking lot of the Autumn Ridge Apartments.  The victim was unable to tell Shoreline officers what happened due to his extensive injuries, from which he is still recovering.

Fingerprint analysis by the King County Regional Automated Fingerprint Identification System identified both suspects. They were later arrested and charged by the King County Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit.  Detectives also found the defendant had washed the victim’s bathrobe and given it to his mother for a Christmas present.
