UPDATE: Human Remains Found Near Bastyr University Are of Adult Male

The Medical Examiner's office states that the remains are those of a male.

UPDATE, Oct. 5, 6:40 p.m.: The humans remains found in the forest at Saint Edward State Park Thursday near the Bastyr University campus just outside Kirkland were the skull and bones of an adult male, says King County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Sgt. Kathleen Larson. According to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office, the remains had been there for more than a year. “We’re still in the beginning stages of the investigation, but at this point there is no indication of foul play,” said Larson. Investigators were on the scene Thursday searching for evidence that could yield the individual’s DNA, but broke just before dark and plan to return Saturday morning.
