Steve Anderson took home the bragging rights among Shoreline Fire Department firefighters competing in this year’s Firefighter Stairclimb Sunday in Seattle, climbing 69 flights in 16 minutes and 14 seconds -- ranking 153rd among 1,473 participants.

Anderson, 38, averaged 15 seconds per flight as firefighters from around the world came to Seattle  as part of the Scott's Firefighter Challenge to support the mission of the Leukemia &  Lymphoma Society.

The money was raised through sponsorships, individual and department fund-raising and entry fees.

Mark Foster, 42, was second among four SFD participants, finishing in 16:25 for 172nd place. Michelle Pidduck, 41, was third, finishing in 22:57, while Jay Fischer, 55, finished in 26:15.
