Firefighters Quickly Put Out Fire at Abandoned House Near Hamlin Park

Fire occurred about 9 p.m. Wednesday night

Shoreline firefighters put out a fire at an abandoned house near 16th Ave. N.E. and N.E. 169th St. after 9 p.m. last night in about 10 minutes.

The home is shrouded in trees and not visible from the street. Neighbor Jessica Howes said it's been unoccupied for about 20 years and no one was present at the time of the fire although squatters have lived there.

Shoreline firefighters were assisted by Northshore Fire Department. No firefighters or anyone else were injured.
