Dump Truck and Trailer Ran Red Light on 145th St. Injuring Seattle Man

James Bloomfield, 67, of Seattle was transported to Harborview with serious injuries after his Honda Civic was struck

A Seattle man was seriously injured Wednesday morning when a dump truck and trailer ran a red light on 145th St. and collided with his Honda Civic, according to the State Patrol.

James Bloomfield, 67, of Seattle was seriously injured when the Peterbilt dump truck driven by Shawn Taipale, 51, of Burlington ran a red light on 145th St. at 30th Ave. N. about 9:57 a.m.

Bloomfield was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with life-threatening injuries.

Bloomfield and another driver Elva Chilson, 67, of Mill Creek were going northbound on 30th Ave. N. when the accident happneed. Bloomfield was proceeding through the intersection when the dump truck struck his Civic, and it was pushed into Chilson's Camry.

The eastbound lanes of 145th St. or State Route 523 were blocked for more than four hours.
