Box of Explosives Used for Silver Mining Found in Garage in LFP

The following blotter items range from October 8, 2012 – October 14, 2012. Information on arrests is supplied by the Lake Forest Park Police Department. The reports do not indicate a conviction.

October 8

WELFARE CHECK:  A 26-year-old man was seen at Swirl Frozen Yogurt looking in the store window for more than 20 minutes at 17171 Bothell Way N.E.  He was wearing no shirt, blue shorts and a tan hat and sunglasses. The reporting person said the man had been seen often, five times in the last month.  An officer contacted the man, who was agitated and visibly shaking. The man appeared to have a development issue. The man said he was looking for a job. The officer advised him to wear more than shorts to apply for jobs and go home and apply online. The officer advised him he was making business owners nervous by his actions. The officer advised the reporting person that if the man returned and caused further concern to call mall security and see if they would trespass him.

EXPLOSIVES: A box of explosives supposed to be used for silver mining was found in in the garage of a home in the 16000 block of 32nd Ave. N.E. The King County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad was called and came and removed the material.

October 10

YOUNG WOMAN THROWS OBJECT AT MAN:  A man reported that while he was loading groceries into the back of his truck outside Albertson’s at 17171 Bothell Way N.E.  he heard a young woman yelling at another woman who was in a vehicle. He said it appeared the young woman as walking too slow across the roadway of the Albertsons parking lot, which resulted in the argument. The man said as he finished loading his truck the young woman passed him but a few seconds later she threw what he thought was a rock at him hitting him in the right side of the head. He said he never talked to the young woman, who was in her late teens or 20s with brown/red hair and wore a brown sweater. He did not want to press charges if she was found but was concerned she might assault someone else.

SHOPLIFT OF JACK DANIELS:  Two young men in their late teens or early 20s took a bottle of Jack Daniels from Albertsons.
