Attempted Carjacking at Safeway, Subway Shop Robbed at Gunpoint in Shoreline

The following blotter items range from Jan. 17, 2013, to Jan. 19, 2013. Information on arrests is supplied by the Shoreline Police Department. The reports do not indicate a conviction.

An attempted carjacking was reported Jan. 17, when a suspect tried to rob someone and steal their vehicle while threatening them with a pistol in the parking lot of Safeway, 15332 Aurora Ave. N., just before 8:30 p.m., according to Shoreline Police.

Here are other selected incidents reported to Shoreline Police through Jan. 19.

Jan. 17

VANDALISM: New graffiti was reported in the men’s room at Paramount School Park, 15300 8th Ave. N.E., and on the east fence at Shoreline Park, 19030 1st Ave. N.E.

Jan. 18

PARK VANDALISM: Graffiti was reported in the men’s room, outside the restroom and on the recreation center at Richmond Highland Park, 16554 Fremont Ave. N. Graffiti was also reported on the drinking fountain by the south restroom at Shoreview Park, 700 N.W. Innis Arden.

GUN STOLEN: A man reported his brown sub-nose Smith&Wesson .38-caliber handgun was stolen from his house in the 15500 block of Ashworth Ave. N. sometime this week. It had been sitting on a table under a napkin in his living room.

THEFT: Someone broke into a parked 1975 Chevy Nova that was being restored and stole a large subwoofer mounted inside a fiberglass box. The incident happened in the 16500 block of 21st Ave. N.E.

MEDICAL POT THEFT: Someone stole a medical marijuana garden and a laptop from a home in the 18900 block of 16th Ave. N.E. The front door of the home didn’t completely lock.

SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE: A possible luring incident was reported outside Einstein Middle School at about 1:45 p.m. The car was described as a four-door brown sedan.

THEFT: A tire and wheel were reported stolen off a parked vehicle at Ronald Methodist Church, 17839 Aurora Ave. N.

Jan. 19

TOOLS STOLEN: Tools were stolen from an unlocked vehicle in a secure apartment garage at the Paramount Park Apartments, 1255 N.E. 152nd St.

HOT IPHONE: Someone plugged in an iPhone into an outlet at McDonald’s, 15201 Aurora Ave. N., while watching television. It was gone 30 minutes later.

STORE ROBBERY: The Subway sandwich shop at 18002 15th Ave. N.E. was robbed at gunpoint just before 3 p.m.
