Forgotten Felines of Shoreline Hosts Second Holiday Adoption and Donation Event

The event will be held at Petco in Edmonds Sat., Dec. 17, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Forgotten Felines of Shoreline will hold its second Home for the Holidays adoption and donation event at Petco in Edmonds on Saturday, Dec. 17, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Founded by Helen Woodward Animal Center in California, the international Home for the Holidays campaign began in 1999 with just 14 participating animal organizations. The annual event has helped more than 5.8 million families experience pet adoption during the holiday season, including more than 1.1 million pet adoptions in 2010.

“This will be our last event before Christmas,” said Leslie Treanor, president of Forgotten Felines. “We’re glad to be part of this nationwide campaign.”

Approximately 20 kittens will be available for adoption at the Forgotten Felines event. The group plans to have a cage-free setting for the event, providing opportunities for families to interact with the kittens.

“We'll have a wonderful variety of kittens,” Treanor said. “We want the community to meet them, and to consider helping the shelter by donating a gift from the holiday wish list.”

Items on the wish list include: canned or dry kitten or cat food (Science Diet, Iams, Friskies, Pro Plan or Royale Canin), kitten milk replacement (KMR, Just Born), Gerber beef and chicken baby food, pellet-style cat litter, kitten toys, cleaning products including bleach, and paper towels.
