UPDATE: Most Richmond Beach Customers Have Power Now

Seattle City Light is still working to restore power to about 184 customers

UPDATE:

Most of the 2,800 customers in the Richmond Beach area of Shoreline who lost power this afternoon have it back now after a 90 minute outage.

About 184 customers near Richmond Beach Road, including the Richmond Beach Congregational Church, still do not have power and that work could take until 8 p.m. tonight to restore it, a City Light employee said.

Syre Elementary was without power for about 90 minutes but classes were not interrupted, district spokesman Craig Degginger said.

ORIGINAL STORY

A power outage struck the Richmond Beach area about 12:10 p.m. Monday, resulting in the loss of power for 2,800 customers.

Seattle City Light estimates that power will be restored by 2:30 p.m., a City Light employee said.

The cause of the power outage is believed to be failed equipment and crews are on working on the problem.
