McClelland to Kick Off Campaign at Paramount Park Sunday

Former Planning Commissoner seeking seat vacated by Terry Scott

Former Shoreline City Planning Commissioner Robin McClelland is kicking off her Shoreline City Council candidacy Sunday, June 5 at the Jazz in the Park celebration at Paramount School Park. 

The event runs from 4 to 6 p.m. and the park is at the corner of N.E. 155th St. and 8th Ave. N.E.

McClelland, who is running for Position 6 in Aug. 16 primary against public defender Jesse Salomon, has been endorsed by state Representative Ruth Kagi (D-Lake Forest Park), Shoreline Mayor Keith McGlashan and City Councilwoman Shari Winstead, according to her campaign Web site. Former Councilmen Rich Gustafson and Paul Grace also endorsed her.

The seat is being vacated by Terry Scott, who decided not to seek reelection.

McClelland's priorities, according to her campaign Web site, are economic growth, livable neighborhoods and stretching tax dollars.

McClelland also has the endorsements of several business owners including Matthew Fairfax of James Alan Salon, Ken Hurlburt of Del-Bet Printing, Larry Steele of Aurora Rents, Ironwood Properties and her husband Keith McClelland, a Shoreline attorney. 

McClelland has raised $4,155.82 so far and spent $1,220.67. Her two largest donors are Keith McClelland ($500) and Scarborough Square Associates in North Carolina ($500).
