Great Escape: Red Dragon and Hideaway Casinos

Hold 'em or fold 'em? You can do both at gaming centers in Mountlake Terrace and Shoreline.

Your teens are holding a car wash at the high school on Saturday. The grandparents volunteered to take the younger children to a movie Sunday afternoon. Your tweens take tap on Thursday evening. It’s your time. Take it.

Each week, we’ll tell you about one great idea to give you a much deserved break, and make your life a little easier. Maybe a whole lot easier.

Today we bring you the bright lights of two casinos, in Shoreline and Mountlake Terrace.

The advertises itself as the closest poker room north of Seattle. It offers weekly tournaments and poker games such as  Texas Hold 'Em and Omaha Hi/Lo. Of course, you can also try your luck at blackjack, keno, pull-tabs, poker, slot machines and video poker. The Hideaway Restaurant features a menu where most entrees are $5 and less, and Thursdays offer tacos for $1 and Corona beer for $2.

Hideaway Casino and Restaurant is at 14525 Aurora Ave. N, Shoreline. For more information, call 206-361-9393 or go to hideawaycasino.com.

In Mountlake Terrace, the Red Dragon Casino offers two printable vouchers on its website that you can use: one lets you receive an additional two-to-one on your suited match. The other allows you to receive a $20 bonus when you get a queen-high, pai gow or lower. Other games offered are Spanish 21, Lucky Ladies Blackjack, four-card poker, Texas Shoot-Out and baccarrat. The Red Dragon Casino also features the Macau Grill, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Red Dragon Casino is at 21917 Highway 99, Mountlake Terrace. For more information, call 425-275-4444 or go online to reddragoncasinoonline.com.
