Great Escape: Bowling Alleys are All the Rage

Robin Hood Lanes in Edmonds and Spin Alley in Shoreline are offering specials today.

Your teens are holding a car wash at the high school on Saturday. The grandparents volunteered to take the younger children to a movie Sunday afternoon. Your tweens take tap on Thursday evening. It’s your time. Take it.

Each week, we’ll tell you about one great idea to give you a much deserved break, and make your life a little easier. Maybe a whole lot easier.

Today comes two offers from bowling alleys in Edmonds and Shoreline. Yes, bowling alleys. They are definitely “in” these days. Little kids dig bowling, high schools have competitive leagues and seniors love it for the exercise. Everyone enjoys the social aspects.

At the venerable  in Edmonds, today brings a “2-Fer-Thursdays” special from 9 p.m. till closing time, which is midnight. Games are $2, with shoe rental and a 16-oz. glass of Bud Light. Sundays are even better. Buy a breakfast for $6 or more from Friar Tuck Inn Restaurant and you get three free games that morning.

Robin Hood Lanes is at 9801 Edmonds Way, Edmonds, in the Westgate PCC shopping center. For more information, call 425-776-2101or go online to robinhoodlanes.com.

In Shoreline,  has a good deal if you can get there before 5 p.m., where each game is $3, or $1 off the regular price. Shoe rental is also cheaper by 50 cents, at $3. Hey, every bit helps, right? After bowling, or before if you please, you can partake in Swannie’s on the Alley, a sports club and eatery, for Swannie’s Famous Nachos, soup of the day or a famous Swannie Dog.

Spin Alley is at 1430 NW Richmond Beach Rd., Shoreline. For more information, call 206-533-2345 or go to spinalley.com.
