  • Why Go: Did this year's spring cleaning rouse up an old computer that your not quiet sure how to dispose of? Let the students, faculty and the staff of Shoreline Community College take it off your hands for you. Your donation will help humanitarian organizations worldwide achieve their charitable missions by providing them with high-quality refurbished desktop and laptop computers.

Volunteer Opportunities

  • Where/When: Sat, April 23 at ,  and .
  • Why Go: Just because Earth Day is on Friday doesn't mean you can't do something to celebrate the occasion on Saturday. You'll have 4 different volunteer projects here locally to choose from. There are two work parties going on at , a  at Richmond Beach Saltwater Park and the  project. Any one of those would make a great way to take part in the Earth Day celebration this year.

  • Where/When: Today - Sunday at the DoubleTree Hotel in Seatac.
  • Why Go: For any science fiction/fantasy fans out there, this event is HUGE. Enjoy over 500 hours of programming, professional panels, writer workshops, gaming, a dealers room, and much more.   • Cost: Full-weekend memberships are $60. Single day memberships: Thursday $30, Friday $40, Saturday $40, Sunday $30. 

  • Where/When: 9 a.m. Sat, April 23 at Seward Park in Seattle.
  • Why Go: Burn off as many calories you can at this 5K Run/Walk so you'll feel a little less guilty about your Easter feast on Sunday. You'll even be able to sleep a little more soundly knowing you participated in an event that will benefit education for children in developing countries.
  • Pricing: On-line Registration Fees: Adult $25.00, Youth $20.00, Family Walk $40.00 - Day of Registration Fees: Adult $30.00, Youth $25.00, Family Walk $45.00. Register on-line here.


  • Where/When: 7 p.m. Sun, April 24 at Jet City Improv in Seattle.
  • Why Go: Spend Easter laughing the night away for a great cause with this Improv Fundraiser for Japan. Absolutely all proceeds from the show will benefit the Mercy Corps, even the performers are waiving their fees to help support this great cause. 
  • Pricing: Tickets for this event are $15 and available at the door and on-line here.
