Fourth of July: What's Open, What's Closed

Independence Day is a holiday. What's open and what's closed in Shoreline and Lake Forest Park?

Independence Day is Monday, July 4. Here is a list of what’s open and what's closed.

If you're looking for a way to celebrate the Fourth of July, check ut the fireworks show at Logboom Park in Kemore Monday night.  Remember all fireworks are illegal in Shoreline and Lake Forest Park.

If you are traveling today, check out the Washington State Department of Transportationweb pages to plan your route. You can expect heavy traffic along I-90 Snoqualmie Pass, US 2 Stevens Pass, Interstate 5 near the U.S./Canadian border and I-5 between Olympia and Tacoma.

Shoreline City Hall is closed Monday. It will reopen Tuesday, July 5. The city council meeting, normally scheduled for Monday, will start at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Lake Forest Park City Hall is also closed Monday.

Shoreline Community College, which is on summer quarter, is closed Monday for the holiday.

King County government: Closed.

The King County Library System is closed today.

King County Metro: Holiday schedule. Click here to see how your route is affected.

King County Transfer Stations (AKA King County Solid Waste Division): Open regular hours. 

Shopping Centers: Many stores and restaurants keep different holiday hours from the main shopping centers, so check with an individual store for exact hours. The Aurora Village Costco is closed.

State of Washington: Closed.

State liquor stores: The north Shoreline and Ballinger Way liquor stores will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. for your spirits needs. They are at 18336 Aurora Ave. N. #105 and 20154 Ballinger Way N.E.

Washington State Ferries: All routes will operate on a holiday schedule.

Federal government (including the U.S. Postal Service): Closed

Banks: Many, if not most, will be closed. Check your local branch.

Garbage and Recycling: Garbage and recycling will be on its regular schedule in Bellevue.
