The Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Patch is in the midst of  launching new features a few of which rolled out last week and continue this week.

Today, as you may have noticed, we ran our first Whiz Kid feature, focusing this week on Angie Bonato, a Shorecrest student. That will run each week on Monday featuring a student from schools in Shoreline.

And Patch Picks, by editor Tony Dondero features some of best places in Shoreline to hang out focusing on everything from the best places for coffee to best parks to best happy hours.

On Saturday, Pet of the Week by Williams features the animals of Shoreline and their owners.

Finally, on Sunday,  Shoreline resident Larry Lewis offers a snapshot of Shoreline and Lake Forest Park through the Where We Live column.

Also this week, we will also feature a question-and-answer interview with Lake Forest Park mayor Dave Hutchinson and high school sports postseason coverage.

Look for further coverage of the controversial Point Wells development as well. We will take a look at Point Wells past, present and future, with a timeline, during the week of Feb. 21. The following week we will examine the legal issues leading up to the March 2 Central Puget Sound State Growth Management Hearings Board hearing regarding the appeal of Shoreline, Woodway and Save Richmond Beach of Snohomish County’s rezoning of Point Wells from industrial to urban center.

Also, in case this piques your interest, Patch’s parent company, AOL acquired the online news juggernaut, the Huffington Post for $315 million, signing  a deal at halftime of the Super Bowl in Dallas. Huffington whose site draws about 25 million U.S. visitors a month combines forces with AOL as it focuses on building content with its 800-plus Patch sites and other properties.
