SCC Tennis Drops Matches To The CCs of Spokane

SCC Tennis Drops Matches To The CCs of Spokane:

SCC Tennis opened its home season on Saturday at Shoreview Park and dropped two matches to the Community Colleges of Spokane.

In the men's match, SCC lost 8-1 as SCC #1 singles player, Yassar Khan was the only winner for SCC, defeating his CCS opponent 6-3, 6-4. But SCC showed promised at #4 singles and #6 singles, as Richard Rasovas lost a 7-6, 7-5 match and Max Larson dropped a 6-4, 6-4 match. SCC's #1 double team of Khan and Shota Murai and Yassar Khan dropped a 7-5, 6-2 match, but led the 1st set, 5-2 before letting the set slide away.

The short-handed SCC Women's Team lost 9-0, but only had 3 players and had to forfeit 6 matches. SCC's Lan Zhang was the only SCC player to win a game.

The SCC Women's match against Bellevue on Sunday was rained out and will be rescheduled. The SCC Men's Team is 0-2 on the season and the SCC women are 0-3.

The SCC teams play again today (Tuesday) at 1:00pm against Skagit Valley College at Shoreview Park.
