SCC Softball Season Ends With Doubleheader Loss To Bellevue College:

The Shoreline Community College Softball's Team season ended on Saturday at Bellevue College when the Lady Bulldogs swept SCC 9-1 and 12-7.

SCC went into the day tied with Everett Community College for the final play-off spot in the NWAACC Northern Region, but with SCC's losses and EVCC wins against Skagit Valley College on Saturday, the Trojans finished 2 games ahead of Dolphins for the final NWAACC Softball Championship spot.

Game 1 - The Lady Dolphins were no hit by Bellevue but still managed to score on walks and an error. SCC pitcher Kelsie Mason give up 11 hits and 4 walks, as the Bulldog offense kept pressure on the defense who committed 3 errors. The game was called in the 6th inning due to the 8 run rule.

Game 2 - The Bellevue offense was in high gear, pounding out 19 hits including 3 doubles and 2 homeruns but the SCC offense also had some fire power, including 3 doubles and 2 homeruns as well. Bellevue jumped out to a 5 to 1 lead after three innings and seemed to take control in the 4th, by leading 8-2, but Alia Kelly's grandslam for SCC in the top 5th pulled the Dolphins back to just down by two, 8-6, but BC put up their own 4 run 5th to take control again and win by 5 runs. Nicole Reyling and Greta Coleman had two hits each for SCC, including a double each and Alexis Salcedo hit her 3rd homerun of the year as well.

SCC finished the season 16-24 and 10-14 in the region. The first losing season and non-NWAACC Softball Championship participating season in five years for the Dolphins. Bellevue, the #3 ranked team in the NWAACC, finished the regular season 35-5 and 23-1 in the region. They will start NWAACC Championship play next Friday in Portland at Delta Park.
