SCC Baseball Drops Game 1 of 4 Game Series With Bellevue:
The Dolphins opened their four game series with Bellevue College on Saturday with an 8-1 loss to the Bulldogs. Game 2 was stopped in the 3rd inning with Bellevue up 4-0. That game will be completed today at 1:00pm at Meridian Park before the regularly schedule doubleheader SCC home doubleheader begins 30 minutes after Game 2 is completed.
In Game 1, Bellevue jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first and held that head until the top of 5th, when SCC cut it to 2-1. But the Bulldogs roared back with 6 runs in the bottom of 5th and took control of the 7 inning game, to win 8-1.
Mitch Hoveke and Chris Hall lead the SCC team with 2 hits each, with Hall having a double. Moveke had the lone SCC RBI. Aaron Rose (0-1) took the loss on the mound for SCC.
SCC fell to 12-10-1 on the season and 0-5 in the NWAACC Northern Region. Bellevue is now 15-9 and 5-4. The 1:00pm game today will be the completion of a 9 inning game, the 3:00pm game is 7 innings, followed by another 9 inning game for the nightcap.
