“The Veterinary Economics Hospital Design Competition recognizes exceptional veterinary facilities that enhance pet owners’ experiences at the hospital, support top- notch veterinary care, maximize practice efficiency, and foster comfortable working conditions for veterinarians and veterinary team members,” says Kristi Reimer, editor of Veterinary Economics. “These award-winning facilities set the standard for cutting-edge veterinary hospital design.”

Family veterinarians throughout the Pacific Northwest and Alaska have trusted Animal Surgical Clinic of Seattle to provide consistent delivery of exceptional and compassionate surgical care to patients and caring service to pet owners since 1986. Whether a pet requires a simple mass removal or a highly technical Total Elbow Replacement, this dedicated team of board-certified surgeons, Licensed Veterinary Technicians and support staff work together to accomplish these goals.

When ASCS outgrew their small hospital in Wallingford, plans were set in motion to build a larger hospital in Shoreline. Two years later, the doctors and staff happily settled into their new digs, designed and built by BDA/CMP out of Albuquerque, New Mexico, a leading design/build firm for veterinary hospitals. Soon afterward, the surgical service was joined by Animal Medical Center of Seattle (providing 24hr ER care and oncology/internal medicine services) and SpecialtyVETPATH (providing specialized veterinary pathology services in-house and to veterinarians across the country). The integration of the three practices under roof allows a high level of service and collaborative care for their patients, pet owners and referring veterinarians. And unlike what may be experienced at other large specialty hospitals that have a hectic “emergency room” feel, many pet owners have commented that they appreciated the comfort and calm environment of the well-designed waiting and exam room areas.

Animal Surgical Clinic of Seattle will be featured in the May 2012 issue of Veterinary Economics, which reaches 58,000 practicing veterinarians in the United States and Canada.
