New Coffee House 'The Bounty' to Open Feb. 27 in North City

Owner James Eeckhoudt hopes to add local craft beers and wines and perhaps live music by summer at the former location of Laughing Ladies on 15th Avenue.

The former Laughing Ladies location in the North City area of Shoreline will be reopening as “The Bounty,” a coffee shop and Internet cafe the owner hopes will serves as a community gathering place.

Owner James Eeckhoudt hopes to open Feb. 27 and -- being a home brewer himself -- hopes to add beer and wine by summertime. “We’re going to open and meet our customers and see what they’d like us to to,” he said Tuesday. “The idea is just to have a community place with an inviting atmosphere.”

The location, 17551 15th Avenue NE, served as the Laughing Ladies coffee house for five years, until it closed last August. Eeckhoudt hopes to feature local craft beers -- he has not yet applied for a license though -- and perhaps add live music on weekends.

He runs a Caffe Appassionato shop in Seattle as well, which is for now serving as a contact for the the North City spot - 206-549-9149. But The Bounty North City does already have a Facebook page here.

Anything will be better than "Scowling Ladies". Welcome, Bounty!
