Shoreline Mayor Keith McGlashan cuts the ribbon at the new neighborhood financial center

Shoreline Mayor Keith McGlashan, flanked by employees at the new Boeing Employees Credit Union storefront in Gateway Plaza, cut a red ribbon Tuesday to celebrate the credit union's grand opening.

The new BECU at 18336 Aurora Ave., Suite 109 has five employees and nearly 2,000 square feet of space.

"It's a good upgrade, definitely," said BECU employee Tim Gunderson, who previously worked at the old North City Safeway BECU location.

Erin Vautier, manager of BECU’s Shoreline location, presented a check in the amount of $500 to Shoreline Public Schools Foundation in support of their efforts to ensure that the basic educational needs of the students in the community are met.
