"Two Scoops" Moore Concert Caps Off Piano Time in Shoreline

Eric "Two Scoops" Moore is well regarded on the local blues music scene.

After a month filled with music, with eight decorated pianos placed around Shoreline for local residents to visit and play, Piano Time 2012 wraps up with a finale concert featuring blues keyboardist Eric "Two Scoops" Moore at Shoreline City Hall on Wednesday night.

Moore is a six time Washington Blues Society "Best of the Blues" Award winner for Best Blues Piano/Keyboard. The Boston-born showman has a long history performing blues, since being hired in 1991 to open shows for ex-Muddy Waters guitarist and Grammy Award winner Luther Johnson.

Cadence Magazine, a quarterly review of jazz and blues, gave Two Scoops high marks, saying, “Moore is a strong soulful singer and a ferocious keyboard player.  He clearly loves what he does and it shows in his roof-raising, good time music."

Wednesday night's concert begins at 6 p.m. Piano Time is a City of Shoreline project, funded in part by a 4Culture grant, along with a collaboration of Prosser Piano and several other local businesses. While one of the eight pianos will remain in the City Hall lobby for occassional concerts, the remaining seven will be put in storage.
