Key to Awesomeness: John is a key member of the King’s CyberKnights robotics team which has competed in the World Championships for the last two years running. Last year he finished in the top 18 in the world (for the field competition) and this year he placed 4th in the world (for the judging/awards section). John serves as one the mechanical leaders in which he is in charge of building the school’s robot. He is also the “field captain” … by effectively quarterbacking the robot drive team.

He is also a crucial part of the music department. As a drummer, John is a member of King’s award winning Jazz and Concert Choir groups.  He has been selected twice as the All-State Jazz Choir drummer and once as the All-Northwest Jazz Band drummer.

John is very personable, and well liked among his peers at King’s School. This year he won the Mr. KHS talent contest, showcasing his wonderful but dry sense of humor as well as his drumming and improv skills. John is a senior and plans to attend the UW next year, with plans to pursue a degree in an engineering related field.
