Viewfinder: Ridgecrest Ice Cream Social

The neighborhood comes out in droves for the 13th annual Ridgecrest Ice Cream Social at Paramount School Park Thursday night

Shoreline residents packed Paramount School Park Thursday night, Aug. 18, for the 13th Annual Ridgecrest Neighborhood Ice Cream Social. 

Mayor Keith McGlashan, City Councilmembers and candidates dished up free ice cream with chocolate syrup and toppings for hundreds of people.

The Around the Sound Community Band entertained the crowd with popular music such as tunes from the musical, "Grease."

The Shoreline Fire Department brought Ladder 61 to event so everyone from kids to adults could get to take a look and sit in the driver's seat.

Officer Greg McKinney of the Shoreline Police Department's Ridgecrest store front, let citizens pet Makai, his English Bulldog. The King County Sheriff Office's dive team gear was on display as well.

A large inflated slide and inflated cage for bouncing kept the younger kids entertained as did the Keystone Kops with their truck. The skate park was busy as well. 

Neighbors visited and caught up on the latest news, and some brought non-perishable food items for Hopelink's Food Bank.
