Shoreline Police Blotter: Sex Offense, Bombing and More

The following blotter items range from June 9, 2012 – June 13, 2012. Information on arrests is supplied by the Shoreline Police Department. The reports do not indicate a conviction.

JUNE 9

VEHICLE PROWLER:  Someone smashed out a driver’s side window in the 19000 block of Wallingford Avenue.

VANDALISM:  Someone used a rock to break a car window in a condo parking lot in the 18900 block of 8th Ave NW.

CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE VIOLATION:  The police contacted two car prowl suspects nearby the intersection of North 200th Street and Aurora Ave.  The male suspect had a warrant out for arrest, possession of drugs and a possible stolen bankcard.

JUNE 11

DUI:  A man was involved in a hit and run incident nearby North 175th Street and Aurora Ave.  He lied to officers about his involvement in the DUI.  He had drug paraphernalia also. He went to jail.

LARCENY:  Someone used a cutting tool to steal a laptop from a customer service table at a Safeway, 15332 Aurora Ave North.

CHILD ABUSE:  A child in the 19800 block of 25th Ave NE complained of abuse by his/her stepfather.  School officials reported the allegations to CPS/KCSO.

SEX OFFENSE:  A woman in the 500 block of NW 196th Place told police that a suspect placed his penis in her mouth without her consent.  

JUNE 12

BURGLARY AT SHAY’S RESTAURANT AND LOUNGE:  Someone used a handsaw to cut a hole in the wall and crawl into the restaurant at 15744 Aurora Ave N.  The suspects broke into the quarter machines but were interrupted by police.  No further information provided in the report.

WARRANT FOR ARREST:  A vehicle was parked in front of the Roadway Inn (14500 block of Whitman Ave) with the parking lights on.  An officer ran the plates and found that one suspect had a warrant for Assault 4 with a $25K bail and the second suspect had a warrant from Eastern WA for Theft 3.

CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE VIOLATION:  Students were found in the woods nearby North 179th and Fremont Ave North.  They were in possession of glass pipes, marijuana and other green vegetable matter.

STALKING AND HARASSMENT AT KELLOGG MIDDLE SCHOOL:  A suspect (male) wrote a victim (female) a note because he was upset that the victim reported a rape a few weeks prior.  In the letter, he blamed the victim for the rapist going to jail.  He told her that he would beat her up if no one else does.  This happened at 16045 – 25th Ave NE.

LIQUOR AT SHOREWOOD HIGH SCHOOL:  Some students were drinking brandy on campus before an assembly at 17300 Fremont Ave North.  The blood alcohol results came out with readings of .233 and .209.

LARCENY:  Two bicycles were stolen from the walkway of a residence in the 18300 block of Ashworth Ave North.

MENTAL COMPLAINTS RESULT FROM COMBINATION OF DRUGS AND BOOZE:  A female in the 14500 block of Stone Ave North mixed synthetic marijuana with 4 Loco and had a mental breakdown.  She was taken to Harborview for a mental health evaluation.

JUNE 13

AUTO THEFT:  Someone stole a silver 1995 Ford Taurus from a parking lot at a residence in the 13000 block of North 152nd Street.

BURGLARY AT ICHI BENTO:  Someone kicked in the rear door of a restaurant in the 17200 block of 15th Ave NE.  Nothing was taken.

CAR THEFT:  Someone stole an unlocked Jeep Cherokee from the roadway in front of the victim’s house in the 200 block of NE 157th Street.

BOMBING:  A woman in the 16700 block of Linden Ave discovered an explosive device (M-100) sitting next to her mailbox which is part of a stand of five mailboxes.  Someone attempted to blow up the mailboxes.

LARCENY AT ADULT CARE HOME:  A suspect stole a wedding ring from a patient at North Ridge House in the 700 block of North 180th Street.  The real wedding ring was replaced with a plastic ring.

NEIGHBOR DISPUTE:  A noise dispute among neighbors in the 15700 block of Palatine Ave North results in one neighbor driving on a lawn and kicking another neighbor’s house with her shoe.  An angry note that was left the next day followed this.
