Pet of the week - Wynn

Rescued from puppy mill

From pound puppies to purebreds Patch spotlights dogs who enjoy what Shoreline/Lake Forest Park has to offer. For some dogs, like this week’s pet Wynn, they need a loving home.

The 5 year old purebred White West Highland Terrier was rescued from a puppy mill by Ginger Luke's Death Row Dog Rescue who took Wynn knowing that there is a forever home just waiting for this 16 pound pup. Ginger, a Shoreline resident and owner of Greenwood’s Rickshaw Restaurant, has rescued more than 3,500 dogs since January 2006.

Wynn is 5 years old, super sweet and is a little shy until he gets to know you. He gets along with people of all ages and other dogs, but he has not been around cats before.

Once under Ginger’s care Wynn was groomed, including an ear cleaning. Under a vet’s care he was dewormed, microchipped and had his shots, including rabies, updated. Now he is ready to go to their forever home.

Wynn’s adoption fee is $595. That covers his neuter, shots, the price to save him from the puppy mill, grooming, microchip, boarding fees, health certificate and transport expense.

Even those who cannot care for a rescue dog can help dogs, like Wynn, by donating to  Ginger Luke's Death Row Dog Rescue, a 501 C 3 organization, to help pay the vet bills and save these dogs who have been through so much. Foster homes and donations of leashes, collars and crates are also needed.
