From pound puppies to purebred cats, Patch spotlights pets who enjoy what Shoreline/Lake Forest Park has to offer. For some dogs, like this week’s pet Josey, all they need is a loving and safe home.
This 10-pound Chihuahua was rescued from a backyard breeder. Now spayed, her puppy producing days are behind her and she’s looking forward to a forever home with people who will treat her like she deserves – a normal, happy dog life.
She is just over a year old and is eager to develop a trusting relationship so she can show how much love she has to offer.

Josey needs a compassionate owner who is willing to take things slow with her. She is very sweet, but the best fit would be in a home with children older than 12 years-old.
She does need help working on her house training, so her hew owner needs to be patient in this area.

Homeward Pet will be able to help even more animals like Josey, when they move into a new building this fall. More than twice the size of the current facility, the new location will allow the non profit to care for more animals and expand the veterinary clinic to provide more low-cost spay, neuter and microchip services to the community.
