Pet of the week - Chacota

Rescued from a hoarder, looking for love

From pound puppies to purebred cats, Patch spotlights pets who enjoy what Shoreline/Lake Forest Park has to offer. For some cats, like this week’s pet Chacota, all they need is a loving and safe home.

This 8-year-old grey and white longhaired Maine coon is on the rebound. He was rescued from a hoarder in Eastern Washington. With more than 40 cats in a single home, he didn’t get spoiled the way cats deserve to be.

He came to Homeward Pet in overall poor condition with fleas and ear mites. But after receiving medical attention he is feeling much better and is ready to find his forever home.

Safely recovering at the shelter, Chacota is welcoming attention and is proving to be a very nice kitty. However, his new owner will need to have some patience and a gentle heart. He is under socialized and needs lots of tender loving care. The best fit will more than likely be a quiet home for this sweet love-starved guy.

Visit Chacota and see if he is a match for you.

Homeward Pet will be able to help even more animals like Chacota, when they move into a new building this fall. More than twice the size of the current facility, the new location will allow the non profit to care for more animals and expand the veterinary clinic to provide more low-cost spay, neuter and microchip services to the community.

Homeward Pet is funded entirely through generous tax-deductible donations.
